Originally earmarked for demolition, 66 South Lambeth Road is a four-storey office building, which we carefully retrofitted to create a lighter, more welcoming workplace.
South Lambeth Road
The atrium forms the heart of the design. Previously obscured by coloured vinyl, it has been reopened to the street and sky, allowing daylight to reach deeper into the building and revealing the full height of the entrance space. Timber, cork and bespoke seating create places to meet, work and pause, while Lattice, a site-specific woven textile by Hannah Robson, responds to the changing patterns of light and shadow cast by nearby trees and balconies in Vauxhall Park.
Accessible toilets, showers and changing facilities were refurbished throughout the building, while exposing the existing services improved ceiling heights and daylight levels across the office floors. New planting by JCLA softens the building's threshold to the street.
